THE FLITLITS
About Introductory Book 6 / POSY POSE / Supported Reading / UK English Version
The distant land of Seldom See has frogs of many types.
Some are large, while some are small with coloured spots or stripes.
Some time ago, a Hop-In Day was dreamed up by the Queen of May.
Posy Pose, the chosen queen, is always keen to gather funds to clear up a bog
for her dear friends, the frogs.
Her father is the lost land’s mayor. He is a champion polo player.
Posy has a trendy brother who looks just like their stylish mother.
Roary is his cool stage name and he dreams most days of fame.
A loyal snake named Ziggy Zag tags along with Posy to most places that she goes.
He helps her pick out shoes and bows.
STORY 6 finds Posy choosing to display a pair of coodle-tootle shoes.
They show pompoms, toot, toot, toot like horns and coo.
Posy welcomes all the Flitlits to ‘hop in’ at a dark ditch.
“There will be a pass,” calls snake, “for all contests, games and cakes.
If you wish to wear a costume, find one in the shaded croakroom.
Frogs can jump, climb, walk and swim. Let the contests soon begin.”
