Berenstain Bears Celebrate 50th Anniversary

Did you know that the classic children’s books about the Berenstain Bears are turning 50 years old this year?

It all started in 1962 when Jan and Stan Berenstain published their first Berenstain Bears book, “The Big honey Hunt”. With titles like “Kindness Counts”, “The Berenstain Bears and the Truth” and “Joy of Giving”, you know that Mama, Papa, Brother and Sister Bear  have all done their share of teaching kids about manners and respect in their own fun bear-themed way for the past five decades.

This summer,  Random House will release an anniversary edition of the first Berenstain Bears book published, as well as a six-title grouping called “The Berenstain Bears:  All in the Family”, so watch for those.

HarperCollins will be publishing nearly 20 new Berenstain titles for the next generation of kids to fall in love with.  This brings the Berenstain title count to 300, with 250 million books sold in print.
